Bacon recipes NEVER go out of style.
Bacon is kind of a hot dish at the moment. And really, can you blame everyone? Bacon is crispy, delicious, and so full of flavor! My mom has a smoker and just started making what we affectionately call “bacon nuggets” out of a pork belly and man, they are pretty much meat candy. I could seriously eat them all day. So, what’s a girl to do when there are no bacon nuggets around to snack on? Well, whip up any of these scrumptious bacon recipes of course! Because let’s face it, when you’ve got a hankerin’ for bacon, then bacon is what you’ve got to eat.
I’m going to separate these recipes into three categories: breakfast, main dish, and dips. Hopefully that helps you find what you’re craving for. So, without further ado…
#1 Maple Bacon Pancakes: These are pretty much heaven for breakfast. The pancakes end up fluffy yet crispy as a result of the bacon and the pancake mixture. Plus, bacon should marry maple syrup and just always be paired together. You really can’t go wrong with this sweet and salty mix!
#2 Apple Bacon Breakfast Burrito: For those mornings when you’ve got to eat on the go, these are a must have. You can take the 15 minutes to make them fresh in the morning, or you can make them ahead of time and keep in the fridge. If you do, I recommend splurging on these bad boys, because not only can they be used in the freezer, microwave, and are dishwasher safe, they are reusable so you can always have them ready for your breakfast burritos.
#3 Easy Sticky Buns with Bacon: Cinnamon rolls topped with bacon. It really doesn’t get much better than that, really. These are a good on-the-go breakfast, if a little sticky. But they also make a great dish to make for a brunch. Bacon pretty much takes these cinnamon rolls and makes them masterful.
#4 Bacon Egg Muffin Cups: I know, we’ve spent multiple posts going over ways to add flavor without adding calories and here I’ve given you three really good excuses to throw those ideals out the window. But I’m going to make up for it here-because these are perfect for any Keto/Low Carb/Paleo diet. I’d recommend using this silicone muffin tin, as it makes everything come out a little bit easier, but beyond that these babies are definitely your’s to spice up and customize!
Alright, enough with breakfast. On to the main squeeze!
Main Dish
#5 Bacon Cheddar Meatballs: Bacon is great with sweet, but it’s also ridiculously good with cheese. These meatballs come together in just about 30 minutes and they come out crispy and tender at the same time. I can promise you these will not stick around for left overs because they will be gone before you can even count them.
#6 Brie Bacon and Basil Pasta: If you’re in need of bacon recipe that can hold its own as a main dish, this is it. Brie has such a subtle nuttiness to it that compliments the crisp bacon and the herb of the basil. Also, if you haven’t ever kept the liquid gold from your noodles, this is one dish you should try! Noodle water is pretty much the best thing to make a sauce with, ever.
#7 Baked Gnocchi with Bacon, Tomato, and Mozzarella: This is another main dish that is a true indulgence. She recommends using store bought gnocchi so that it holds its shape a little better, and let’s be honest, that just makes things come together easier! The sauce is actually made from a base of bacon, and while bacon isn’t the main feature here, it’s definitely noticeable.
#8 Bacon Crusted Beer Mac and Cheese: I’m ending this main dish round up with one more indulgent recipe. This is pure comfort food at it’s best! If you haven’t made Beer Mac and Cheese, you’re missing out. The flavor from the beer works really well with the cheese, and adding bacon is almost the sugar on top.
Now on to the dips and appetizers!
Dips & Appetizers
#9 Hot and Cheesy Bacon Dip: This is a great dip for parties! Not only is it going to be a hit, but it’s also quick and easy to throw together.
#10 Bacon Cheeseburger Crock Pot Dip: Bacon plus a crock pot is pretty much my dream come true! This recipe is easy, quick, and really hands off which makes it perfect for a busy day.
#11 Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Smokies: I think somewhere in the rules of all tail gating and football parties, smokies are a requirement. This recipe is easy, and it makes the smokies more than just little hot dogs. These are almost as good as bacon nuggets. Almost.
Bonus Recipes: Dessert!
Okay, I know I said I was just covering the three topics above. But it’s been a Monday and this was my cure-all for it. It sounds gross, but it really did wonders for chasing away my Monday blues.
Bonus-Chocolate Covered Bacon: Simple. Delicious. And really, really, not good for you. But some days, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
And there you have it folks! When you need to get your bacon on, or your simply in need of some tasty comfort food, these recipes are sure to fit the bill.
