Fried Shrimp Taco Recipe

Shrimp Tacos are a perfect way to say hello to sunshine and warm weather. If you're unsure about how to make shrimp tacos, here are some great recipes! Plus, they're so easy to make!

When you’re in the mood for something fried, there are few things that will substitute. This fried shrimp taco recipe is easy and quick. It will also become a crew favorite for Taco Tuesday! If you’re trying to eat healthy, then why not try using an air fryer instead of the traditional hot oil method? You can grab an awesome one here.

Fried Shrimp Taco Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • ½ c. vegetable oil
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • ¾ c. flour
  • ½ c. cornstarch
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp. hot sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 ½ lbs. shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 c. Panko
  • 12 tortillas
  • 4 c. slaw of choice
  • ½ c. fish taco sauce of choice

Instructions
 

  • Once the shrimp has been thawed and deveined, heat the oil in a large skilled over medium-high heat. While the oil is heating, whisk the buttermilk, flour, cornstarch, egg, and hot sauce together until combined. Then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Now dip the shrimp one at a time into the buttermilk mixture before dredging in the Panko crumbs, making sure to press lightly so that it sticks. Then place the coated shrimp on a platter until all shrimp have been coated. Next, cook the shrimp in batches by placing them in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes a side. They should be golden brown. Remove from the heat and place on a paper-towel lined plate to drain slightly.
  • Serve the shrimp immediately with your preferred slaw and sauce. Enjoy!
