Fried Shrimp Taco Recipe

Fried Shrimp Taco Recipe

Ingredients
- ½ c. vegetable oil
- 1 c. buttermilk
- ¾ c. flour
- ½ c. cornstarch
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp. hot sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 ½ lbs. shrimp peeled and deveined
- 1 c. Panko
- 12 tortillas
- 4 c. slaw of choice
- ½ c. fish taco sauce of choice
Instructions
- Once the shrimp has been thawed and deveined, heat the oil in a large skilled over medium-high heat. While the oil is heating, whisk the buttermilk, flour, cornstarch, egg, and hot sauce together until combined. Then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Now dip the shrimp one at a time into the buttermilk mixture before dredging in the Panko crumbs, making sure to press lightly so that it sticks. Then place the coated shrimp on a platter until all shrimp have been coated. Next, cook the shrimp in batches by placing them in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes a side. They should be golden brown. Remove from the heat and place on a paper-towel lined plate to drain slightly.
- Serve the shrimp immediately with your preferred slaw and sauce. Enjoy!
