12 Tasty Freezer Jam Recipes

May 15, 2018 by Jillian Parkinson Leave a Comment

Freezer Jam is a yearly tradition at my house. I have really fond childhood memories of eating my grandma’s raspberry freezer jam on homemade rolls fresh from the oven. As I got older, my mom and grandma would include me in the jam making, and I love making it almost as much as I love eating it.

Freezer jam is great for beginners because it’s almost fool proof and you don’t have to boil jars or any of that canning nonsense. I would highly suggest getting a big pack of tupperware. I like having them in different sizes and depths because when we make more than one type of jam, it adds an air of surprise when you pull them from the deep freeze. You can also go the cute route and use them as gifts! So, without further ado, here are twelve tasty freezer jam recipes!

Strawberry Freezer Jam: This is my all time favorite jam. I eat it on bread, ice cream, by itself. You really can’t go wrong with a good strawberry freezer jam. I promise.

Freezer Raspberry Sauce Recipe: Hear me out, I know this says sauce and not jam. But seriously, this goes perfect on pancakes, waffles, rolls, ice cream…you see where I’m going, right? Fresh raspberries pair deliciously with lemon juice and pectin to create pure perfection in a jar.

Berry Basil Limeade Jam: This is a quirky taste on the traditional berry jam. It’s like a mojito and freezer jam had a delicious and charming baby. Lime juice and fresh basil combine with whatever fruit you love to create a truly unique and yummy jam.

Strawberry Peach Jam: Talk about summer in a jar. Strawberries and peaches are one of my favorite summer time combos, and this jam is no exception. Between the fresh strawberries from the store and the peaches off our tree, this is a flavor blend that we make extra of every year simply because it brightens dreary winter days.

Pretty Peach Jam: This is my dad’s favorite. He will single handedly go through an entire loaf of bread in a week when this is the jam in the fridge. It’s also really great in cookies. Trust me.

Surprise Raspberry Jam: Okay, I had to throw this one in because it’s just so crazy! It uses tomatoes, raspberry gelatin, and sugar to make a jam that she swears tastes just like raspberry jam. I guess when you’ve got a ton of tomatoes and no raspberries, this works? I’m going to try it this summer just to say I’ve done it. 🙂

Ginger Pear Freezer Jam: See how this literally has graham crackers in it? That’s because it’s just that good. You will be finding any excuse to bake with this jam because its flavor is heavenly. Promise.

Apricot Pineapple Jam: When you’re talking about summer in a jar, this is it. I take it back, this is sunshine in a jar. The sauce is delicious and the texture is awesome on English muffins. Also, it makes a great neighbor gift!

Orange Jelly: This is a different take on the freezer jam because rather than fresh fruit it uses orange juice concentrate. But it comes together easily and is a great solution to a rainy day and grumpy children.

Pina Colada Jam: This jam uses zucchini. Yup, you heard me, zucchini. I have finally found a purpose for the gigantic zucchinis that take up residence in my garden every summer! You could add a little coconut extract to make this truly Pina Colada, and I don’t think you’d regret it at all.

Peach Raspberry Jam: Pairing the tart raspberry with sweetness of peaches is a grand idea. I love strawberry peach jam, but raspberry peach might just edge it out. It’s got a scrumptious flavor that goes great on just about anything.

Three Berry Freezer Jam: This jam combines strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries in a well rounded party for your mouth. So go ahead, buy the berries in bulk when they’re in season and you’ll be happy you did come December. I promise.

And there you have it! Twelve, count it, twelve recipes for easy DIY freezer jam. Now you have no excuse not to give it a try, because there is something here to fit any set of tastebuds. Happy Jamming!
