If you’re looking for recipes for dinner that are going to please the adults and the kids and be light on the cooking, then this is the dinner for you! You can use chicken thighs, wings, breasts or a whole chicken, which is awesome. If you opt for wings, I’d double the sauce. If you enjoy chicken breasts more than thighs, try wrapping the breasts in bacon first to help maintain moisture. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
It’s imperative that you have a good slow cooker on hand. You can cook this in the oven on a baking sheet, but I prefer the slow cooker. It’s less messy and definitely produces chicken that is more moist and tender, which everyone loves. This is a great slow cooker because it has a timer, which allows for a little more hands-off. And let’s face it, some days you need a little more hands off. I prefer using frozen breasts and cooking them on low for 6-8 hours because it really does give you the most tender chicken, but you do you. Slow cookers definitely make these recipes for dinner a lot easier to prepare, so you may want to invest in one.
Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken
Ingredients:
- 5 chicken breasts or thighs
- 2 Tbsp. minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
Process: Rub the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic and place in the slow cooker. Sprinkler the top with brown sugar and cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 4 hours. I know it’s super weird to cook dry in the slow cooker, but the chicken will release enough juices, I promise! Serve with rice and roasted veggies for a perfect blend of protein, veggies, and starch. This delicious dinner recipe is sure to be a hit in your house! And it’s so easy to make (especially with a slow cooker).
