I’ll be honest-growing up the only cooking my mom did was with a crock pot. And maybe a skillet of some sort. Unless we were camping-then she’d break out the dutch oven and reign over the campsite like the master chef she truly is. The downside? Who wants to cook with . charcoal in the summer? Or in the middle of the winter? Not me. Enter La Creuset! The dutch oven you can use in your kitchen to cook long, slow, and delicious! Check out this set on Amazon. It’s a pretty penny, but definitely worth the investment!
- Caramelized Onions: Hear me out on this one-I love caramelized onions. There something about how softly tangy and sweet they get. They are perfect in salads, sandwiches, casseroles, pretty much everything!
- Tortilla Soup: This is a little labor intensive, but absolutely worth the effort. From the roasted corn to the fresh fried tortilla strips, it’s a win all around and probably one of the best Le Creuset recipes.
- Ramen with Smoked Turkey Broth: This is a college staple taken to the next level. It comes together beautifully and tastes just as delicious. Not only is it healthy, it’s fairly easy to throw together in your Le Creuset.
- Red Wine-Braised Brisket: My mom makes the best brisket. She is attached to her smoker, so rarely ventures outside of that. I was hesitant giving this a try, but it was well worth the effort. I can also attest to the fact that it’s much better the next day after it’s had adequate time to rest.
- Fried Chicken Sandwich: This is a mixture of delicious seasoned mayo, spicy crispy chicken, and crunchy pickles. This recipe is perfect in the Le Creuset dutch oven!
- Braised Artichokes with Tomato and Mint: Looking for a classic way to upgrade your artichoke game? Using your dutch oven is the perfect way to do that! These are so much more than just artichokes dipped in butter.
- Slow Cooked Pork Shoulder with Braised White Beans: A little bit of prep and you’ve got yourself a classic dish dressed up in its best!
- Korean Braised Short Ribs: This recipe hails from the old country-the associate editor actually got the recipe from her grandma. It’s delicious, and well worth the secret she’s been keeping all these year. Not to mention they come together seamlessly in the Le Creuset.
- Ham and Sausage Jambalaya: This is spicy, filling, and a feast for the eyes as well as the belly. You can turn down the heat on this if you need (which I definitely do) or go a little rogue and serve it with a healthy dose of sour cream.
- Fried Squid with Aioli: I was a little squeamish trying out squid, but it was every bit as good (if not better) than anything I’ve had in a restaurant. The Le Creuset was awesome to fry in, and this recipe was healthy and delicious.
So, whether you’re looking for something adventurous like Fried Squid, or something familiar like Tortilla soup, try breaking out your Le Creuset for some healthy and delicious recipes! If these look a little intimidating, try out Sun Basket for some prepped meals to help your evening prep!
