Open-face Peanut Butter and Fruit Sandwiches

Whether you use peanut butter or an alternative, this is a great way to switch up your traditional PB&J sandwich!

  • 4 slices bread of choice
  • ΒΌ c. nut butter of choice divided
  • 1 gala apple or banana sliced and divided
  • Garnish: honey, crushed nuts, etc.


  • Quick and simple, spread the nut butter on the slices of bread and top with slices of apple or banana. Then serve and see if your kids can identify the nuts! You can also garnish with a drizzle of honey, jam, or crushed nuts.
