Cuisine American
- 2 medium Granny Smith apples
- 2 tubes crescent rolls
- 1 c. sugar
- ⅓ c. butter softened
- ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
- ¾ c. Mountain Dew
- Vanilla Ice Cream for serving
Begin by heating your oven to 350°F and greasing a 9x13 baking dish. While the oven is heating, peel, core, and cut each apple so that you have 16 wedges. Then pop those crescent rolls and separate out each triangle. Next, wrap each triangle around a slice of apple and set in the baking dish. Alternatively, you can pinch the triangles together to create squares and place 2 apple slices in each square.
In a small bowl, mix the sugar, butter, and cinnamon until well mixed. Sprinkle this mixture over the dumplings before slowly pouring the soda around the rolls. Don't mix! Finally, bake the dumplings for 35-40 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crescents are golden brown. Serve them warm with a scoop of ice cream and enjoy!
