To serve a frozen Moscow Mule, it’s important that you have a few things. One is a set of copper mugs to serve them in. Copper does something that brings out the ginger and keeps things nice and chilly at the same time. There’s probably a scientific explanation about how copper interacts with the ginger and cold, but suffice it to say, these mugs are a must. Grab a set here or here for your next evening cocktail.

The next thing that you need to make your cocktail top shelf is a good blender. This is especially important if you’re serving frozen Moscow Mules. Grab a great blender here so you’re prepared. Lastly, you need to have quality ingredients. I can’t stress this enough! If you skimp on the ingredients, you’re going to get substandard drinks. Now that you’ve got the basics, here are two recipes: traditional and non-alcoholic.

Recipe 02: Moscow Mule Mocktail (non-alcoholic)

All the flavors of the Moscow Mule without the alcohol.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 Tbsp. freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 1 Tbsp. simple syrup
  • 1/4 c. club soda
  • 3/4 c. ginger beer (not ginger ale)
  • crushed ice
  • thinly sliced lime wedges for garnish
  • mint sprigs for garnish

Process:

Begin by pouring the lime juice, simple syrup, and club soda into a copper mug. If you want to add a couple of torn mint leaves, go ahead! Otherwise, fill the cup halfway with ice. Next, pour your ginger beer over the ice and give it a good stir. Lastly, garnish with mint leaves and lime wedge before serving. Alternatively, you can toss the ingredients into the blender like the frozen Moscow Mule recipe above.

And there you’ve got it-one refreshing drink for those hot summer evenings!
