Super Healthy Pasta Recipes
Healthy pasta recipes are one of those foods that most people shun-especially if they are trying to lose weight. I used to do the same until I lived with an Italian who completely changed my view of pasta. I met her, her family, and more than a few of her friends, all who live on pasta as a main dietary staple and I’m pretty sure they’ve discovered the fountain of youth. The key to good pasta is the noodles and what you put on them. Here are some super healthy pasta recipes all under 500 calories a piece!
Spaghetti with No-Cook Heirloom Tomato Sauce: This dish comes together in under 30 minutes and is perfect for those summer days when you don’t want to sit in front of a stove all day. Plus, if you plant some tomatoes in your garden (hint, hint!) this is a perfect way to use them up!
Brussels Sprout and Basil Bowties: This is a great dish that happens to have pasta in it, but the pasta is not the main feature. Brussels sprouts add some really great texture and the basil adds great flavor. The whole dish comes together easy and is light on the waistline while still comforting the tummy.
Easiest-Ever Spinach Lasagna: Once again, here is a reason to own and love your Crock-Pot. This dish comes together and cooks with minimal effort on your part. The result? A pasta dish that is packed with vitamins and comes in under 500 calories per serving.
Zucchini “Pasta” Caprese: Okay, I know that zoodles are old news but there is a reason why they have stuck around so long. When you’ve got zucchini coming out of your ears, it’s a great way to use them up. And if you’re seriously hungry and in need of a big bowl of something, this is one dish you can eat guilt-free!
Light Spaghetti Bolognese: This is another way to get your noodle fix without actually eating any pasta. The hardest part about spaghetti squash is just cutting it open. Once you’ve managed that, the rest is downhill from there! This dish is so yummy and almost completely guilt-free, which is just an added bonus!
Summer Pesto Penne: Rounding out our pasta round up is this summer pasta dish. It is quick to make and definitely delicious to eat! The flavors of mint, lemon, asparagus, and peas create a light and fresh dish that is really made for those summer days.
And there you have it! Some of my favorite pasta dishes that won’t break your diet or ruin your waistline. They might just make you a little more content instead.
